The development of the main engine advances slowly but surely. Now we can say that our efforts to implement a complete and optimised sound library into the engine will soon come to an end. From the up-coming features we can mention the in-game Spatial 3d Sound FX System (binded to in-game elements), the standard 2D Music and Menu sound System, separated from the one in the game, the online stream-playing engine - allowing the player to listen to online audio streams, and the soon to come VOIP feature. Illyrium World Editor 0.08a released

We released first version of Illyrium World Editor Romanian Version(English version will be available soon). It's an map editing tool, that gives you the freedom to create the world of your dreams. 

It's bassed on "Terrain Zones". Every terrain zone can have his own textures, and u can blend them.

It's still an alpha version, so the number of bugs it's huge.

Soon we will release the next version, that will repair the current bugs, and will open new features.

Remember : Some of the futures are not available yet to public. It's only an alpha version ! We dont respond for any hardware/software loss. You use this application at your own risk.

First Alpha release to public

We succesfully tested the authentification server these days. Authentification server is now online.We are working now at the rest of server applications, few of them are in testing process too. We still have some problems with the client exceptions handling. We try to solve all these problems before public testing.

In few days we will have the first public game server.

The download for the client will be available sonner, but probably until the server is released there will be some minor updates.

We try to make everything simple for users.

Our team developed these days a new and better map format.

The specifications for this new map format are :

  • - Unlimited map size
  • - Is compressed
  • - Dynamic collision support
  • - Can contain all the resources, including splatting info(Splatting textures/Splatting scripts),unlimited blending maps and light map for every tile
  • - Map is divided in zones, every zone has its scripts that create a unique enviroment dinamicaly
  • - Fast tile-block access(is about some milliseconds on a lowend computer). This action does everything including reading from disc, decompressing, cacheing.
  • - Easier map management. Has 3 open modes(Read,Write,ReadAndWrite). ReadAndWrite is used for dynamic patching. If needed it replaces the header for a specific block, and block data is added at the end of map file. This action makes possible terrain modification while playing without any speed loss in gameplay.
  • - Posibility to make patches between 2 maps, to make mmo map updates smaller and faster.
  • - Posibility to refresh a map at any time by removing any unused block. This action is usualy taked when application terminate to remove any wasted disk space.
  • - Brings High Quality terrain to any aplication. This class can be used at any High Quality(from 1 cm scale) mapping system. Usualy is good to be used when mapping small areas like a city.
